South Sudan foes to discuss foreign troops’ withdrawal in June

Khartoum-The new round of peace talks between government of South Sudan and the rebels will start in the 4th of June. In the meantime, IGAD is embarking on choosing Sudanese officers within the observation team of cessation of hostilities.
The representative of Sudan in the IGAD mediation team Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Mustafa Al-Dabi told the Citizen that the last meeting between South Sudan President Salva Kiir and former vice president Reik Macahr has solve many issues especially involving all people of South Sudan in the peace process. He added” we did not reach an agreement on withdrawal of foreign forces but we hope so in the coming round of talks”
Concerning the accusations that Khartoum supports rebels in South Sudan, Al-Dabi said that the mediation will not pay attention to any news on the internet without any evidence, saying that IGAD has not received any official complaint in this regard.
He said that his current mission in Khartoum is about choosing Sudanese officers as part of the cessation of hostilities observation team besides expanding the participation of Sudan in the current negotiation efforts in Addis Ababa.
The Citizen learnt that Al-Dabi will head to Juba, South Sudan in the coming two days to hold consultations on the efforts of realization a political settlement.
The mediation team includes also Lazarus Sumbeiywo as representative of Kenya and Seyoum Mesfin as representative of Ethiopia. Reports said that the rebels of the Revoluntionary Front support the SPLM army.
The Ugandan President Museveni said last January that his forces will remain in South Sudan state to guarantee the implementation of the cease fire agreement signed by the parties to the conflict in the South.
Kiir and Machar signed an agreement in Addis Ababa during current May on settlement of the crisis. The agreement stipulates the cease fire and formulation of interim government but the two parties exchange accusations of resumption of fighting after 24 hours
The fighting in Sudan took place last year after accusations by Kiir that Mahar was involved in a coup attempt against the government. Thousands were killed and around million persons were displaced from their homes.
