National Consensus Forces: Mbeki supports opposition stance on dialogue
|
Khartoum-The chairman of the African Mechanism and former President of South Africa Thabo Mbeki has said that he agrees with the terms of the national consensus powers on creating favorable climate for the dialogue called for by President Al-Bashir. In a meeting with a high-level delegation of the national consensus forces, chaired by Farouq Abu-Issa, Mbeki affirmed support of the stance of the national consensus forces. Member of the national consensus forces Dr. Babiker Mohamed Al-Hassan told the Citizen that they met with Mbeki at Coronthia Hotel on Saturday noon, saying that they have shown adherence to the issue of paving the atmosphere for dialogue through cancellation of all freedom-restricting laws including the freedom of expression and press, the release of the political detainees and convicted, stopping of war and delivering food for the affected displaced people. He said that Mbeki has “agreed on what he have proposed”, saying that we will not embark on dialogue with the regime. He added that the problems of Sudan will not be resolved without disintegrating the one-party state and stopping the war.
