Dr. Ismail reveals big decline in foreign investments in Sudan
|
Khartoum-The Minister of Higher Council for Investment Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail has revealed big decline in attracting the Arab and African investments in the past three years. Dr. Ismail said: by 210, Sudan attracted 30 billion dollars as investments but this figure has declined”.
He blamed the secession of South Sudan for this decline.
Speaking before the parliament on Monday, Dr. Ismail said that some steps have been made to put Sudan back on its investment position including establishment of attorneys and courts to be specialized on investment cases. He announced formation of four arbitration centers to handle the investment disputes.
He announced readiness of 6 free zones on the Sudanese borders with Ethiopia, Egypt and Eritrea and in Niyala and Genaina.
