A Sudanese court has charged 17 people with premeditated murder, accusing them of involvement in the killing of citizen Atta Manan Hassan inside the police station of El Timeid in northern Sudan’s River Nile State.
The accused are Abdel Rahman Ali Nafie and Bilal Ali Nafie, brothers of former Presidential Adviser Dr Nafie Ali Nafie, a judge, six policemen, and seven members of the security services.
Hassan had been subjected to torture. He was stripped of his fingernails, and beaten to death.
