African Mediation receives negotiation proposals on two areas
|
Khartoum-The parties to the negotiations on South Kordofan and the Blue Nile areas have handed over their views to the African high-level mechanism, chaired by Thabo Mbeki, announcing readiness to engage in direct talks when requested by the mediation.
The government and SPLM-North delegations included new members.
Member of the SPLM-North delegation Mubarak Ardol said that the movement held intensive meetings in the field, and agreed on the negotiation stance it has delivered to the mediation team on Monday.
He added” our negotiation stance is handed over to the mechanism, and we are waiting for the response and ready for direct talks”.
On his part, member of the government delegation Bako Tali has said they are ready for the next round of peace talks, especially upon joining of new members.
He told Alshoroq that the Sudanese government hopes that the round of talks will be successful following the recent political openness in the country. He added” we are ready to introduce whatsoever it takes to make the dialogue successful
