Parliamentarians describe as “vague” FM stance toward Halayeb
|
Khartoum-The Foreign Ministry has renewed adherence to its old stance of handling Halayeb issue through the diplomatic channel, expressing keenness to maintain strategic relations with Egypt.
Describing the ministry’s stance as vague, they denounced the ministry’s view attributing the recent movements by Egypt toward Halayeb to the Renaissance dam.
The state minister for foreign affairs Kamal-Eddin has said that they put the interests of the country as priority, saying that” nobody can force them to abandon their diplomatic goals. “Sometimes we act quietly and wisely” he added.
In the same context, member of the parliament for Kassala constituency Mahjoub Ahmed said Egypt has advanced 20 kilometers into Wadi halfa area and imposed fees on citizens under full absence of the Sudanese government.
He said if this continues, the area will have the same “fate of Halayeb”.
Member of the Parliament for Halayeb constituency Ahmed Issa said that the government stance toward Halayeb is vague, revealing development action by the Egyptian government in the area
