India’s ONGC shows interests to expand oil investments in Sudan
|
Khartoum-The Indian company of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) announced on Sunday its desire to expand its oil investments in Sudan. In a meeting with the a technical delegation from the ONGC, the Sudanese Minister of Oil Mekkawi Mohamed Awad discussed the possibility of agreeing on expansion of the company’s activities in areas of oil exploration and production.
In a press release on Sunday, the oil minister affirmed readiness to provide the entire data pertinent to the blocks displayed for investments, lauding the successful partnership between Sudan and India in oil sector. that his
Head of the cooperation and production Mr.Shyamal Bhatta Crarya has affirmed serious desire of the company to expand its investments in oil exploration and production in addition to the cooperation in the technical fields.
On the other hand, the ONGC has evacuated its employees from its operations in South Sudan, following violent clashes between groups supporting President Salva Kiir and rebel leader Riek Machar, two company officials said.
ONGC's overseas arm, ONGC Videsh, has a 25 percent stake in two joint-venture companies operating two oil blocks in South Sudan.
