Parliamentarians accuse government of destroying Sudan shipping line
|
Khartoum-The Sudanese shipping lines company has asked the National Assembly to help with building a national sea fleet following the rejection by the ministry of finance to provide sovereign guarantees. The shipping line company was able to buy Dahab passenger ship using lease purchase, revealing offers from China and Croatia to build the fleet known as” Dahab The Sudan shipping line has accused government agencies including the Haj and Umra authority of acting against the shipping line, saying that it has rented foreign steamers to transport goods and Sudanese passengers at higher prices. Parliamentarians have described the lack of a steamer under flag of Sudan as shameful and sad, accusing the government of destroying its successful institutions. The director of the Sudanese shipping line Mostafa Mukhtar has affirmed, in a meeting with a high level delegation of the transport panel at the parliament, the ability to build a national fleet within a short time
