Beja Congress urges release of political detainees
|
Khartoum-The Beja Congress has published a statement in English this week on several websites calling for the release of the whole political detainees in Sudan. The statement said the government of Sudan of keeping on violating the basic human rights despite the international pressures on. The statement said that there is no freedoms of press, expression or the right to demonstrate, saying the government arrests the opposition leaders in unknown places where they are subject to terrorism, torture and liquidation. The statement pointed to the arrest case of Taj-Eddin Ahme Arja, who accused Al-Bashir and Deby of being the reason of the suffering of Darfur, and denounced the bombardment of the innocent civilians with planes in Nuba Mountains and the Blue Nile. The statement described him as one of the hundreds of the leading figures in the unknown prisons of the regime. The statement requested the release of Taj-Eddin and the rest of the political detainees, and urged the international community, human rights organizations, the UN, the European Union and Barak Obama to denounce the human rights violations by the authority in Sudan and to exercise further pressures on the government to release the whole political detainees.
