Sudan receives technical support from Germany for weapons registration in Darfur Khartoum-Sudanese authorities received on Tuesday the first batch of German technical support to register the arms and weapons in Darfur region. At a ceremony organized on this occasion at the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Headquarters in Khartoum in presence of the German Ambassador to Sudan, Rolf Wilbert, and the two sides stressed that event reflects the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and push them forward The German Ambassador stressed his country's support for such activities for their impact in achieving security and stability in the region, pointing out his country's continued support for disarmament, demobilization and reintegration in Sudan and South Sudan to contribute not only to the stability of the two countries but in all the region. DDR Commissioner, Dr. Solaf Addeen Saleh praised Germany's efforts in support of registration and marking of weapons in Darfur. He pointed out that the Commission began registration and labeling of arms in Darfur, which reflected positively on the non-use of weapons, but only for official purposes.
