Sudanese measures to resume trade with South Sudan
|
Khartoum-Sudan's General Federation of Transportation Chambers has announced on new procedures for the resumption of trade with South Sudan following the opening of the crossing points between the two countries. The Secretary-General of the National Chamber for Travels, Shams Eddin Hamad Diab, told local newspaper on Wednesday that his Chamber has put arrangements and intensive efforts regarding the commercial convoys heading to South Sudan, pointing out that the measures included granting of permits, check up process, besides providing all kinds of consumer goods, clothing, medicines and fuel. Diab predicted the success of the trading exchange following the visit made by South Sudan's president, Salva Kiir, to Khartoum recently, in which he called on the authorities to speed up the opening of the crossings and removing the constraints of security, simplify tax and customs procedures to contribute to the flow of traffic and revitalize the economy of the two countries.
