Dear Friend,
The crisis is Darfur, Western Sudan has captured the attention of the United Nations and indeed the entire World, so much that Secretary General Kofi Anan called it the “World’s worst humanitarian crisis”. We in the Sudanese community in Houston have followed anxiously as events unfolded in our homeland, and we are now ready to act to rescue the innocent and restore shattered lives.
The Sudanese American Community Development Organization of Greater Houston (SACDO-GH) invites you to a fund raising dinner to support relief efforts in Darfur on Sunday December 12, 2004 from 6:30 – 9:00PM at the Arab American Cultural and Community Center, 10555 Stancliff Rd in Southwest Houston. The event will include information sharing about the conflict in Darfur, and footage from refugee camps in the area.
The humanitarian crisis in Darfur calls for immediate and massive action by friends of Sudan all over the world. We in the Sudanese Community plan to mobilize the Houston community in order to relieve the suffering of the vulnerable population of Darfur. We would be grateful for your support. In the event you are unable to attend please send your tax-deductible contributions to:
